4 Days and Nights of Radical Guitar Madness & Insight

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my website. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)

…or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

An Invitation from Tom Morello

I’m excited to announce my first ever camp, TOM MORELLO’S GUITAR REVOLUTION, happening January 2 – 6, 2020 in Newport Beach, CA.

TOM MORELLO’S GUITAR REVOLUTION will be about a lot of things — ferocious rock n roll guitar playing, power riff songwriting, inventive soloing, subversive sonics (and activism), and unlocking maximum creativity throughout four action packed days of discussion, demonstration, and performance. We’ll be exploring, in great detail and depth, what it means to be a guitar player at every level, from firing the imagination of absolute beginners and making every moment fun and productive; to working with Intermediate players, unlocking their potential and exceeding their goals; to helping advanced players to find their own voice on the instrument and taking their playing and career to the next level. Whether you want to be in a backyard cover band, or you aim to become a side musician for a superstar, whether you’re an aspiring songwriter, shredder or session musician, or you dream of filling stadiums one day, I have experienced ALL of those levels and we will be getting deep into it all (while shredding my ass off) to help you be the best guitar player you can be.

TOM MORELLO’S GUITAR REVOLUTION is as much about the social impact as it is about the playing. I believe guitars, as tools of art, fun and expression, are an important part of culture and society. Whether it’s getting kids playing them in schools that would not otherwise have the opportunity or using guitars in prisons as rehabilitation tools we are determined to get free guitars to people who need them most. For each of the first 100 people to register, my friends at Fender are joining me in donating a guitar in your name to support music education initiatives in California schools and Wayne Kramer’s Jail Guitar Doors prison rehabilitation programs. I also strongly believe that access to top notch guitar instruction should be for EVERYONE regardless of economic circumstances. To that end we will be granting scholarships to Tom Morello’s Guitar Revolution in association with accredited, non-profit local organizations that help disadvantaged and underprivileged musicians of all ages, tastes, and levels.

I’m excited about getting up close and personal with the attendees. I’ll be dissecting my rig, technique, and philosophy, jamming and shredding face to face with the attendees as well as with the incredible players who have signed up to rock with us. I want to make sure that there’s a real exchange and interface with everyone. I am very interested in seeing YOU play, so get yourself ready for the of Battle of the Shredders! We’ll also have interactive songwriting sessions for all levels of players. One thing we will demonstrate is that songwriting is not some crazy unclimbable mountain. If you know two chords and can count to four, you can be a songwriter. Stage, studio, performance, practice, and of course harrowing tales from a life time of revolution rock. No stone unturned.

I’ll be joined at GUITAR REVOLUTION by a number of longtime friends as well as some newer players that I truly admire. All of these artists have their own unique stories and experiences to share: what it’s like to be in a band, what it’s like to be a sideman, how to use the studio as an instrument, what it’s like to aim for complete mastery of the guitar, and what it’s like to explore sonics…where no one has gone before.

The musical landscape has changed pretty dramatically but the one thing that has not changed is that feeling of standing there with an electric guitar over your shoulder, you press the distortion pedal and hit that chord…it just feels as close to human liberation as you’re going to get. Whether you play casually on the weekends or you’re all in for ten thousand hours of practice, that feeling never changes.

My latest album, The Atlas Underground, is a kind of Trojan Horse – a way to inflict my guitar vision on the next generation. It’s the same with TOM MORELLO’S GUITAR REVOLUTION. I feel a deep responsibility to help inspire people to pick up the greatest musical instrument that the world has ever seen, the electric guitar, and take it (loudly) into the future. I hope you’ll join us.
